A little history

The first written reference to Corpus in Sitges dates from 1358, and the procession through the streets is documented in 1647. Flower carpets appeared in the last third of the 19th century and, since the 1950s, they have been designed and laid the night before Corpus.

The National Carnation Show began in 1918. Sitges Corpus was declared of national artistic interest in 1952, of national tourist interest in 1965 and, in 2023, the Government of Catalonia declared it a Heritage Festival of National Interest.
